Being from Vancouver Island, I had had the pleasure of photographing weddings all over the island. One of my favourite venues to shoot at is Black Rock Resort, nestled on the rugged west coast of the Island, just 30 minutes from Tofino. Located in Ucluelet, BC, they first opened back in 2009, and boast a total of 133 rooms to accommodate you and all your guests. They offer a wide range of amenities including their own Restaurant (Currents), Float Lounge and Drift Spa. And yes, they have not one, but two, hot tubs & as well as a seasonal plunge pool.

With breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, lush rainforests, and rugged coastlines, Black Rock Resort is the perfect place for your wedding. From their elegant reception space to their intimate outdoor patio, the resort offers a wide range of jaw-dropping backdrops that will be sure to make your day (& images) unforgettable.

As a photographer, I love the diversity in the scenery - whether you want ocean, beach, forest or cliffs, Black Rock Resort literally has it all. There are few venues that inspire me more than this one! If we are blessed with sunshine, you truly cannot beat the west coast Ucluelet coast glow at sunset during golden hour.

I had the pleasure of photographing Thalia & Pat in 2022 at this venue & can confidently say it is one of the best I’ve been to. Aside from the wide range of breathtaking photo opportunities, Black Rock Resort really sets themselves apart with their attentive staff & delicious food. I appreciate venues that allow my couples to relax knowing the quality will be top notch & they’ll be taken care of from beginning-to-end.
